🦌 The Four Friends and the Hunter 🐦
Long ago, near a peaceful forest filled with tall trees and clear streams, four very different animals lived together as close friends. They were a clever crow, a gentle deer, a wise turtle, and a quick little mouse. Although they belonged to different kinds of animals, their friendship was strong and sincere.
Every morning they met under a large banyan tree near a beautiful lake. They talked, shared stories, and helped one another whenever someone needed support. The crow watched the forest from the sky, the mouse used his sharp teeth to solve problems, the deer ran swiftly through the forest paths, and the turtle used his patience and wisdom to guide them all.
One day, as they were talking peacefully, the crow noticed something unusual while flying above the forest. From the sky he saw a hunter walking slowly toward the lake with a net and a bow in his hands. The crow quickly flew back to warn his friends.
“My friends,” he said anxiously, “a hunter is coming toward this place. We must be careful. Hunters are dangerous and clever.”
The deer immediately became worried. “If the hunter sees me,” he said, “I will surely become his target.”
The turtle moved slowly toward the water, while the mouse hid near the roots of the tree. The crow flew to a high branch to watch the hunter's movements.
Soon the hunter arrived near the lake. He spread a strong net on the ground and hid behind a bush, waiting patiently for an animal to fall into his trap.
After some time, the deer came slowly toward the lake to drink water. Unfortunately, he did not notice the hidden net. As soon as he stepped forward, the net tightened around him.
The deer struggled desperately but could not escape. Seeing this from the tree, the crow immediately flew to the mouse and said, “Our friend is trapped! We must act quickly.”
The mouse did not hesitate. “Take me to him,” he said bravely.
The crow carried the mouse on his back and flew down near the trapped deer. The mouse quickly began biting through the ropes of the net with his sharp teeth.
Meanwhile, the turtle slowly crawled toward the place to help his friend as well. Within a few minutes, the mouse successfully cut through the net, and the deer jumped free.
Just at that moment, the hunter returned to check his trap. Seeing the broken net and the escaping deer, he became furious. While chasing the deer was impossible now, he noticed the slow-moving turtle nearby.
The hunter quickly caught the turtle and tied him with a rope. He placed the turtle in a bag, thinking that at least he would not return empty-handed.
The three friends were deeply worried when they saw the turtle captured. The deer said sadly, “Our friend saved me, and now he is in danger. We must rescue him.”
The clever crow quickly thought of a plan.
“Deer,” he said, “lie down on the path ahead and pretend to be dead. I will sit on you and pretend to peck at your body. When the hunter sees you, he will drop the bag to collect the deer.”
The deer followed the plan perfectly. He lay still on the ground as if lifeless. The crow sat on him and acted as if he were eating from the deer’s body.
When the hunter saw this from a distance, he became excited. “A dead deer!” he shouted happily. “This is far better than a turtle.”
He quickly dropped the bag containing the turtle and ran toward the deer.
At that moment, the mouse rushed forward and quickly chewed through the rope of the bag. The turtle slowly crawled out and moved toward the water as fast as he could.
Just before the hunter reached the deer, the crow flew away and the deer jumped up and ran into the forest with great speed.
The hunter stood there in complete shock. His turtle had escaped, and the deer had disappeared. Even his net was destroyed. Angry and disappointed, he finally walked away empty-handed.
Soon the four friends gathered again near the banyan tree. They were relieved and happy that everyone was safe.
The turtle smiled and said, “Today we learned that true friendship means helping each other in times of danger.”
The crow nodded wisely. “Alone we might have failed, but together we were stronger than the hunter.”
True friendship and teamwork can overcome even the greatest dangers.
When friends help each other, no problem is too big to solve.
