🕊️ The Pigeons and the Hunter 🎯

Long ago, near a peaceful forest, there stood a tall banyan tree beside a dusty road. Many birds lived on its branches, but among them a large group of pigeons lived together happily. Their leader was a wise pigeon named Chitragriva. He was calm, intelligent, and always guided his flock with care.

Every morning the pigeons flew across fields and forests searching for grains to eat. They always moved together in a group and followed their leader closely. Because of this unity, they rarely faced danger.

One day, as the pigeons were flying in search of food, they became very hungry. They had been flying for a long time but could not find any grains anywhere.

Suddenly, one of the younger pigeons spotted something shining on the ground. “Look!” he shouted excitedly. “There are many grains scattered on the ground below.”

The pigeons looked down and indeed saw a large number of grains spread across the field. It looked like a wonderful feast.

However, their wise leader Chitragriva became suspicious. “Be careful,” he warned. “Food scattered so neatly in an empty field may hide danger.”

But hunger had made many pigeons impatient. “We have been flying for hours,” some of them said. “Surely it is safe. Let us go down and eat.”

Despite their leader’s warning, the pigeons descended toward the grains. As soon as they began eating, something terrible happened. A hidden net suddenly tightened around them from above.

The pigeons were trapped.

They flapped their wings desperately, but the more they struggled individually, the more tangled they became. Soon panic spread among the flock.

Just then a hunter hiding behind a bush stood up happily. He had laid the trap carefully and had been waiting patiently for birds to fall into it.

“Today is my lucky day,” he said with a greedy smile as he began walking toward the trapped pigeons.

Seeing the hunter approach, the pigeons became terrified. They cried out to their leader, “What shall we do now?”

Chitragriva remained calm even in that dangerous moment. “Do not panic,” he said firmly. “If we try to escape alone, we will fail. But if we work together, we can still save ourselves.”

The pigeons listened carefully.

“We must all flap our wings at the same time and lift the net together,” the leader explained. “If we rise into the air together, the hunter will not be able to stop us.”

The pigeons followed his instructions exactly. On the leader’s signal, they all flapped their wings with great strength.

Slowly, the net began to rise from the ground. The hunter was shocked as he watched the entire flock lifting the net into the air.

“No!” he shouted, running after them desperately.

But the pigeons flew higher and higher, carrying the net with them. The hunter chased them for some distance, but soon he became tired and gave up.

The pigeons continued flying until they reached a quiet forest where a clever mouse lived. The mouse was an old friend of their leader.

They landed near the mouse’s home, and Chitragriva called out to him.

The mouse quickly came out of his hole and was surprised to see his friend trapped in a net.

“What happened?” he asked.

Chitragriva explained the situation. Without wasting any time, the mouse began biting the ropes of the net with his sharp teeth.

One by one, the ropes broke, and soon all the pigeons were free again.

The pigeons thanked the mouse for his help. They were also grateful to their wise leader whose calm thinking had saved them from the hunter.

From that day forward, the pigeons never ignored their leader’s advice again. They had learned an important lesson about unity and wisdom.
