The War Between the Sparrow and the Elephant

Once upon a time, in a peaceful forest filled with tall trees and singing birds, there lived a small sparrow. She had built her tiny nest on the branch of a strong tree. Inside the nest were her precious eggs, which she protected with great care and love. The sparrow was very happy and dreamed of the day when her little chicks would hatch and fill the forest with their cheerful chirping.

Not far from that tree lived a huge elephant. The elephant was very powerful but also very careless. One hot afternoon, while wandering through the forest in search of shade, the elephant walked near the tree where the sparrow lived.

The elephant was feeling restless and began shaking the tree with his strong trunk. He did it simply for fun, without thinking about the creatures living there. Suddenly, the branch holding the sparrow’s nest broke, and the nest fell to the ground. The delicate eggs shattered instantly.

When the sparrow returned and saw her broken nest and destroyed eggs, she was filled with grief. She cried loudly and felt helpless. The elephant had already walked away, unaware of the terrible harm he had caused.

The sparrow sat beside the broken nest for a long time, thinking deeply. She realized that she could not defeat the elephant alone because she was too small and weak. But she also believed that intelligence and teamwork could overcome great strength.

The sparrow decided to seek help from her friends in the forest. First, she went to a woodpecker who lived nearby. The woodpecker was known for his sharp beak and clever mind.

After hearing the sparrow’s story, the woodpecker felt very sad and angry about the injustice. “Do not worry,” he said. “Together we will teach that careless elephant a lesson.”

Next, the sparrow and the woodpecker went to meet a buzzing fly who was very good at distracting animals. The fly also agreed to help them. Finally, they visited a wise frog who lived in a small pond in the forest. The frog was famous for his smart plans.

After listening to the sparrow’s sorrowful story, the frog thought carefully and then said, “Strength alone does not win battles. Intelligence and unity are far more powerful. Let us make a plan.”

The frog explained the strategy to everyone. Each of them had a special role to play.

First, the fly would buzz loudly around the elephant’s ears and disturb him. When the elephant became annoyed and closed his eyes in irritation, the woodpecker would quickly peck at his eyes. Once the elephant lost his sight, he would wander helplessly through the forest. At that moment, the frog would croak loudly near a deep pit so that the elephant would think there was water nearby and move toward the sound.

The next day, the plan was put into action. The fly began buzzing loudly around the elephant’s ears. The elephant became extremely irritated and started shaking his head. In frustration, he closed his eyes.

That was the moment the woodpecker had been waiting for. He quickly flew down and pecked at the elephant’s eyes with his sharp beak. The elephant cried out in pain and soon lost his sight.

Blind and confused, the elephant began wandering aimlessly through the forest. Meanwhile, the frog started croaking loudly near a deep pit. The elephant, thirsty and desperate, thought the sound meant there was water nearby.

Slowly and carefully, the elephant moved toward the sound of the frog’s croaking. But instead of finding water, he stepped into the deep pit and fell inside. The pit was so deep that the elephant could not climb out.

Thus, the mighty elephant who had once carelessly destroyed the sparrow’s nest was finally defeated by a group of small but intelligent creatures working together.

The sparrow felt that justice had been done. Although nothing could bring back her eggs, she realized that unity and wisdom could overcome even the strongest enemy.

From that day onward, the animals of the forest remembered this story. They learned that even the smallest creature should never be underestimated. When friends unite and use their intelligence, they can defeat the most powerful opponent.

Moral of the Story: Unity and intelligence are stronger than brute strength.
