So, let's begin today's interesting story
Once upon a time, in a peaceful green forest, there lived a crow who was simple, honest, and easily trusted others. He was not very clever, but he had a kind heart. Every morning, he flew across the forest searching for food.
Not far away, a clever fox lived near a small hill. The fox was known among the animals for his sharp mind. He often used his intelligence to get food without making much effort. However, his cleverness sometimes turned into dishonesty.
The Crow Finds a Piece of Cheese
One bright morning, the crow flew toward a nearby village. He searched around the houses and finally found a small piece of fresh cheese lying near a kitchen window.
The crow was delighted. He quickly picked up the cheese in his beak and flew back toward the forest. He wanted to enjoy his delicious meal somewhere peaceful.
After reaching the forest, the crow sat on the branch of a tall tree. He placed the cheese firmly in his beak and looked around happily.
Unfortunately, the clever fox was walking beneath the same tree. The fox noticed the cheese immediately. His mouth watered, and he began thinking of a way to get it.
The Fox Makes a Clever Plan
The fox knew that he could not climb the tall tree. He also knew that the crow would not simply give him the cheese. So, instead of using force, he decided to use flattering words.
The fox looked up at the crow and said, “Good morning, dear Crow! What a beautiful bird you are today!”
The crow looked down but remained silent. He remembered that the cheese was still safely held in his beak.
The fox continued, “I have seen many birds in this forest, but I have never seen one with feathers as shiny as yours. You look like the king of all birds!”
The crow felt happy after hearing these words. He had never received such praise before.
The fox noticed that his plan was working, so he added, “I am sure your voice must be just as beautiful as your appearance. I would be very lucky if you sang a song for me.”
The Crow Makes a Mistake
The crow became very proud. He wanted to prove that he could sing beautifully. Without thinking about the cheese in his beak, he opened his mouth and tried to make a loud sound.
“Caw! Caw!”
The moment he opened his beak, the piece of cheese fell straight to the ground.
The fox quickly picked it up.
The crow suddenly realized what had happened. He understood that the fox had never really admired his feathers or his voice. The fox had only used sweet words to make him drop the food.
The Fox Reveals the Truth
The fox smiled and said, “Dear Crow, your voice may not be as beautiful as I said, but your mistake certainly helped me today. Never believe every compliment you hear.”
The fox then walked away with the cheese.
The crow felt embarrassed. He sat quietly on the branch and thought about his mistake.
He realized that being praised can make anyone feel proud, but pride can sometimes make us careless. From that day onward, the crow decided that he would think carefully before trusting someone's sweet words.
The Crow Learns an Important Lesson
A few days later, the crow faced another similar situation. This time, another animal tried to flatter him. But the crow remembered the fox and stayed silent.
He kept the food safely in his beak and flew away.
The crow had finally learned an important lesson: compliments are not always sincere. Sometimes, people may praise us because they want something from us.
From then on, the crow became more careful. He remained kind and friendly, but he no longer allowed flattering words to control his decisions.
Moral of the Story
Moral: Do not let flattery make you careless. Think wisely before trusting someone's sweet words.
Key Lesson: A wise person listens to praise but does not become proud because of it. Good judgment is more valuable than beautiful compliments.
